The tree is in a public park and our school shares a boundary with the park. No one is reported injured in the incident,” said a school teacher requesting anonymity. Sources said that a team from the Horticulture Wing of Chandigarh Administration later reached the spot and started the process of removing the damaged tree.

Baldev Raj, junior engineer, UT’s horticulture department, said, “As soon as the incident was reported, we sent a team to remove the tree. Heavy rain accompanied by strong winds can be a reason for the uprooting of trees. This area comes under the jurisdiction of UT civic body but my team was already present in the area.
