Another Shiv Sena MLA joins the camp of rebel Eknath Shinde

In yet another setback to the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena, another MLA from the party has joined the camp of rebel MLAs led by minister Eknath Shinde in Assam.

A video of MLA Dilip Lande entering the luxury hotel in Guwahati, where the party rebels have been camping for the past few days, was shared by Shinde’s office here on Friday.

The move by Lande, who represents Chandivali assembly constituency in Mumbai, has raised the number of Shiv Sena MLAs in the rebel camp to 38. Shinde, however, has claimed the support of 40 of the total 55 MLAs of Shiv Sena and 12 independents.

Shinde, who has claimed that his faction is the “real Shiv Sena”, sent letters signed by 37 MLAs to the state assembly’s deputy speaker Narhari Jirwal, governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari and the legislature secretary to inform him about his appointment as legislature. have sent. Party leader and Bharat Gogawale has been made the party’s chief whip.

Staff at Shinde’s office here said they were not informed when Shinde and the other insurgents would return to Mumbai.
