American Airlines canceled more than 600 flights on Sunday

The airline has now canceled more than 1,500 flights since Friday, as it deals with weather problems and staff shortages that began last week.

“With additional weather throughout the system, our staffing begins to decline as crew members are out of their regular flight sequence,” American said in a statement to CNN on Saturday.
