Afghan, Indian social media accounts being used to defame Pakistan: NSA Yusuf

National Security Advisor Moeed Yusuf said on Wednesday that social media accounts operating from Afghanistan and India are being used to defame Pakistan as Afghan authorities have failed to stop it. broad regional benefits done by the Taliban.

Addressing a press conference with Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry, Yusuf expressed regret at the “global silence” in response to India’s propaganda against Pakistan.

The comments came after the digital media wing of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting launched a “deep analytics report” on “anti-state trends”.

The 135-page report covering “PTM, Political Parties, Indians and the Fake News Nexus” dissects anti-Pakistan trends from 2019 to 2021.

According to NSA Yusuf, the five top themes used by elements involved in propaganda are:

  • Defame the Pakistani government and especially the Pakistani army
  • fan sub-nationalism
  • China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) targeted
  • Put Pakistan on the gray list of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF)
  • Blame Pakistan for all the chaos in Afghanistan
