Adani family donates Rs 60,000 crore to charity

Ahmedabad, June 23

The Adani family has announced its commitment to donate Rs 60,000 crore for several social causes. This announcement has been made to commemorate the centenary of Gautam Adani’s father Shantilal Adani and the 60th birthday of Gautam Adani. The fund will be managed by Adani Foundation.

To harness India’s demographic advantage, there is an ever-increasing need to focus on the areas of healthcare, education and skill development. Deficiencies in each of these areas are obstacles to ‘Self-reliant India’. Gautam Adani, Chairman, Adani Group said, “Apart from being the 100th birth anniversary of my inspiring father, this year also marks my 60th birthday and hence the family decided to contribute Rs 60,000 crore towards charitable activities. Health care, for education and skill development, especially in the rural areas of our country”.

Over the years, the Adani Foundation has responded to the changing needs of society in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) – whether it is sustainable livelihoods, health and nutrition, and education for all or by addressing environmental concerns.
