Eight-year-old innocent has been admitted to the hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a vehicle orilliaOnt., police say.

Ontario Provincial Police On Thursday at approximately 3:15 p.m., officers were called to a call of a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Park Street and Collegiate Drive.

Police said an eight-year-old pedestrian was crossing the intersection, and was killed “as a result of a two-vehicle collision”.

According to police, the child was taken to a local hospital and is being transported by Orange Air Ambulance to a Toronto area hospital with serious injuries.

Officials said no one else was reported injured.

In an update, police said William Hutton, a 66-year-old man from Orillia, was charged with operating a vehicle causing bodily injury and an impaired driving charge.

The intersection where the collision took place was reopened on Thursday evening.
