Coffee County officials on Tuesday arrested 43-year-old Martha Sasser Pope for being a school employee who engaged in sex with a student, a felony.
According to a criminal complaint, Pope, who was appointed as secretary at Elba High School in 2020, engaged in oral sex with a student on September 10.

Pope was released from the Coffee County Jail within an hour of his arrest after posting a $5,000 bond.
