Young woman dies after falling from Cliffs of Moher in Ireland

A young woman in her twenties has died after falling from the popular tourist attraction the Cliffs of Moher. Ireland,

The woman was reportedly out walking with three friends when she collapsed on Saturday afternoon, Irish broadcaster RTE said.

Irish Coast Guard Contact was made at around 1.20 pm and a coordinated search operation was launched, with a rescue helicopter locating his body.

The Aran Islands RNLI lifeboat was able to recover her body shortly after 3pm.

A Garda spokesperson said: “Gardaí and emergency services launched an operation following reports of an incident on the Cliffs of Moher this afternoon.

‘The body of a woman, believed to be in her twenties, was pulled from the water by emergency services.’

The cliffs in Co Clare are one of Ireland’s most beautiful tourist destinations, visited by an estimated 1.5 million people each year.
