Yogi Adityanath welcomed the repeal of agriculture law, said- failed to convince the farmers

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday welcomed the repeal of three agriculture laws and regretted that despite the best efforts of the government, farmers could not be reassured.

“The government tried to interact with the farmers at every level. But maybe due to some lapse on our part, we failed to explain our point to the people,” Adityanath said.

“I, on behalf of the Uttar Pradesh government, wholeheartedly welcome the withdrawal of three agricultural laws by the Prime Minister,” he said.

The CM called the withdrawal of the Bills a “historic” gesture and congratulated the Prime Minister for taking the decision.

He said, ‘Today on Guruparb, the Prime Minister has done a historic work by using this language of dialogue in a democracy and by withdrawing three agricultural laws.

He said that though the bills got the support of a large section of farmers, a minority who could not be convinced managed to stop it.

“Though from the very beginning there was a large community which believed that such laws can play an important role in increasing the income of farmers, some farmer organizations came out against it and took the path of agitation despite our efforts,” he said. said.

The Chief Minister also welcomed the decision to constitute a committee regarding the Minimum Support Price. -PTI
