WWE legend ‘Superstar’ Billy Graham ‘dealing with a myriad of very serious health issues,’ family says

wwe legend “Superstar” Billy Graham He has been battling health issues for the past several weeks and his family has revealed that the former wrestler has lost 45 pounds in three weeks.

The 79-year-old’s health was updated on a GoFundMe page set up by his family. They are asking for donations to help pay for the steps of his recovery. Graham’s real name is Wayne Coleman.

“Guys, Wayne (Billy) has had a really bad run lately. He coddled, but God decided it wasn’t his time to go, and brought him back to us! He spent three weeks in the ICU at Mayo Hospital Been on the run for over a year now, checked into a rehab center, and is now back in Mayo,” the description read.

“He is dealing with a myriad of very serious health problems: a major infection in his ear and skull that may have required six months of intravenous IVs, congestive heart failure, diabetes, hearing loss as a result of infection, and the list goes on. He is facing a long period of rehab, and his insurance will only pay a portion of it. He faces at least two months in a skilled nursing facility, once he is stable and Mayo Hospital is released from. Wayne has lost 45 pounds in the past three weeks.

“Wayne’s wife, Valerie, is doing her best to work full time, while also doing everything she can for her husband. They have been facing mounting medical bills for a long time. Any Amount would be greatly appreciated.”

Graham’s wife initially wrote a post on his Facebook page on 31 January.

“Any amount will help friends, thank you,” the post reads. “Billie was released from Mayo for a short time, placed in a rehab center, and then sent back to Mayo with heart problems. I am very worried about Champion. He lost almost 50 pounds in three weeks Lost. Thank you and God bless!”

The pro wrestler debuted in Stampede Wrestling in 1970 and moved to the NWA’s Los Angeles territory under the name Billy Graham in tribute to the evangelist. He would perform in the American Wrestling Alliance and then work his way up world wide wrestling federation (WWWF) in the mid-1970s, later known as WWF and then WWE.

He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2004.

In the WWWF, he was a one-time heavyweight champion. He was also twice a part of Pro Wrestling Illustrated’s Match of the Year award. The first came in 1977 for a match against Bruno Sammartino and again in 1978 for a match against Bob Backlund.
