Hello friends and welcome to our coverage of the 117th World Series!
It seems that outside of the Houston area, Cobb County Georgia, and probably Atlanta, no one wanted that. There are a lot of haters out there, we know that, and I understand the disappointment. Many of us live in LA’s. would have rejoiced at the prospect of Joe Kelly throwing back and forth to Houston’s batsmen On the grandest stage in baseball. But alas, Kelly is injured, the Braves send the Dodgers packing to the NLCS, and the Revenge tour of LA is put on hold for now.
All is not over though: let me pitch you on this world Series.
Brave has some brilliant underdogs here. Back in July, they lost all-world outfielder Ronald Okuna to a season-ending injury, and before that they lost another All-Star outfielder, Marcel Ozuna, after being arrested for domestic violence. Knowing that the NL East was the best, Atlanta EVP Alex Anthopoulos did not give up on the season, but worked to rebuild the outfield. They acquired Adam Duvall, Jock Pedersen and NLCS MVP Eddie Rosario, who became NLCS MVP. He also acquired George Soler at the last second: he has recovered from Covid-19 and could join the series.
Alex struck basically all his trades, which is incredibly rare, and the Braves outclassed their rivals from third place and five games back on time for a division title with just 88 wins. He then eliminated the Dodgers in a 106-win, which is quite a feat.
There’s also an old school manager in Brian Snitker, near Atlanta. which revolved around the organization of the brave for decades before taking his shot, (His son Troy is a hitting coach on the Astros!) and Freddie Freeman has a lovable All-Star first baseman.
It’s probably a 7.5/10 on the Likes chart: not bad!
And Houston? Well, the Astros have Dusty Baker, who is ranked 12th on the all-time manager win list, a group where he has 11 rings in front of him. So we can all root Dusty to get his rock, Rights?
So let’s put them all brave stadium white flight, and the suspected “bite” of Atlanta and the fact that they had a Anti-vaxxers sing the national anthem before game six Stuff behind us. And maybe let’s, for now, forget about that little Astro fraud scam, the way the proprietorship deals with it, and one small incident. employee taunting female journalist Celebrate a player on your roster on charges of domestic violence, and get into this World Series because it really has great potential to brighten up the game.
