Baltimore (WJZ) — Maryland State Police on Thursday arrested a North Carolina woman in the 2014 murder of her landlord in Carroll County.
Charity Sophia Goodwin, 38, was arrested on Monday in the wake of charges of shooting 50-year-old Prakash Rampatsinh earlier this month and indictment in related offences.

Police said Rampat Singh’s body was found on the morning of June 27, 2014, on an unpaved road in Hampstead. His pickup truck was later found abandoned in Prince George’s County.

Detectives suspect that Rampat Singh’s tenant Goodwin kidnapped his landlord and killed him during a confrontation at a rental property in Baltimore three days before his body was found.
Police said Goodwin faces other charges including first-degree murder, conspiracy to murder, kidnapping, conspiracy to abduct, armed robbery and motor vehicle theft.

The 38-year-old remains in custody in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, while awaiting extradition back to Maryland.
