The league table never lies, but sometimes – especially at the start of the season – it can be economical with the truth. On Paper, Wolves v brentford 13th against 10th, a good mid-table struggle to start the day. But it doesn’t tell the story of a promising start to the season by both sides.

It’s a bit of a stretch to say that the Wolves could have won all four league games. Instead they lost the first three 1–0 against the top four wannabes, before winning at Watford a fortnight ago. He’s played some really exciting stuff, and he’ll be surprising some people if Raul Jimenez comes back to his best.

Brentford have taken only two points from their last three games, a light dose of reality after a happy win against Arsenal, but they look comfortable against good opposition. While everyone accepts that it will get tougher as the nights come, for now they seem to be doing just fine.
