With Mohanlal’s picture, Prithviraj Sukumaran announces Lucifer 2 – India Times Hindi News

The sequel to Lucifer, directed by Malayalam actor-director Prithviraj, has been formally launched. The star recently shared a picture of himself with the lead team of the project, titled Empuraan. “#L2E. Team,” Prithviraj captioned the picture that featured Lucifer head Mohanlal, writer Murali Gopi and producer Marcus Antonius Perumbavoor.

The makers also posted a video discussing the project of Prithviraj, Mohanlal, Murali and Marcus Antonius. Prithviraj mentioned that Empuraan is going to be a complete commercial entertainer that can cater to all sections of the audience. Prithviraj said, “The huge success you have given for Lucifer has given us more confidence to dream big for Empuran.”

Prithviraj earlier revealed that he was meeting Mohanlal to discuss the key points of the project, before he went abroad for an extended shooting schedule. Empuran was announced in 2019 just after Lucifer became a huge hit.

It became the first film in the history of Malayalam cinema to cross the Rs 200 crore mark at the box office. The director and producers wasted no time in seizing the opportunity to announce a sequel to Lucifer. However, due to COVID, the project got delayed.

Mohanlal said that the sequel was a challenge for him. He said, “We want Empuran to be bigger than Lucifer. And this project has all the potential to happen. It is a big film and we will be shooting in many other countries.”

Lucifer was set in the backdrop of Kerala politics. It follows the story of Stephen Nedumpalli, played by Mohanlal. Stephen tries to save his foster father’s family from many problems. However, the final reveal changed the whole plot.

The change was the main attraction which made the audience love it. In the end, it appeared as though Stephen was an international mafia overlord known as Khureshi Abrams.
