Will the Center reintroduce agricultural laws? Union Minister said ‘will move forward again for farmers’ – Bharat Times Hindi News

Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar has indicated that three agriculture laws, withdrawn by the government last month after months of protests from farmers, may be reintroduced at a later date.

Speaking at an event in Maharashtra on Friday, Tomar blamed “some people” for scrapping the controversial laws. “We brought the Agriculture Amendment Act. But some people did not like this law, which was one after 70 years of independence. Big reform under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” the Agriculture Minister was quoted by local media.

“But the government is not disappointed…we take a step back and we will move forward again because farmers are the backbone of India,” he said.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS)-affiliated farmers’ union Bharatiya Kisan Sangh (BKS) said it would hold public meetings and protests across the country for the re-implementation of the three agriculture laws.

At a press conference held in the national capital, BKS announced that as part of its next phase of movement to reintroduce agricultural laws, a public awareness campaign would be conducted in every village across the country from January 1 to January 10. The Sangh also expressed its intention to hold dharna (protest) in every block and tehsil on January 11, on the death anniversary of former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri.

“Agriculture laws were beneficial to 90 per cent of the farmers of the country. Small and marginal farmers, who are represented by us, and not those who protested and blocked Delhi’s borders for over a year (a reference to the protest against the withdrawal of agricultural laws). effect BKS General Secretary Badri Narayan gave this information.
