Will need to handle him with care’: Former spinner says comeback won’t be easy for Deepak Chahar

Chahar has worked hard on his fitness. he was in the national Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore where he did a brief rehabilitation programme. After regaining his fitness, he returns to the Indian dressing room and is ready to play for the country.

Meanwhile, former India spinner Maninder Singh has said that it will not be easy for Chahar as he is coming back after a gap of 4 months. Speaking with NDTV, Singh said that the Indian team management has to be careful in handling the young right-hander fast.

“Yes, it’s been a long break and he (Deepak Chahar) got hurt. It is not easy to come back to international cricket where you have got such a long break due to injury. He would need to be handled with care to begin with, but I am sure the team management would know when to use it and when not. He is a talented kid, but it will not be easy to come back after such a long injury,” Maninder told NDTV.

The former Indian cricketer also talked about Virat Kohli’s poor run. Maninder said that the former India captain is mentally strong and will soon find his lost batting. The former said that Kohli’s decision to take a break from cricket should be respected.

“I am sure there must have been a dialogue between the selectors and Virat Kohli. He is such a great player, such a great player.
