Why did Boeing stop making the 747 jumbo jet?

Since its first commercial flight in 1970, boeingThe K747 jumbo jet has flown more than 3.5 billion passengers. Double-decker aircraft made air travel more affordable for millions of people around the world. It is still the most recognizable aircraft to ever take to the skies with its iconic hump, four engines, wide landing gear and sheer size.

But over the past few decades, airlines have pushed aircraft manufacturers to go for more fuel-efficient planes to reduce costs. Two-engine jets can now take off with the same efficiency and fly farther than Boeing’s 747 and older four-engine planes. airbus A380.
