WhatsApp releases ₹ symbol to allow easy payments for Indian users – India Times Hindi News

Just before the festive season, WhatsApp has given a great news for its Indian users. At the Global Fintech Festival (GFF) 2021, WhatsApp released the ₹ symbol in chat composers to ease the payment process for users in India. It has also been announced that the camera icon in Composer can now scan any QR code to make payments across over 20 million stores in India.

Payment process will be easy

In November 2020, National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) approved Facebook and WhatsApp to ‘Go Live’ on Unified Payment Interface (UPI) service. After these updates, the process of payment on WhatsApp has become easy. Users will now be able to pay using the ₹ symbol and the camera icon. These updates will soon be made available to all users.
