West Bengal: 10th class result declared, pass percentage is 86.6. reached the highest level of

The first secondary examination conducted by the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) in March after the Covid pandemic recorded a pass percentage of 86.6 – an all-time high in the history of Class 10 state board examinations. The results were declared on Friday.

In 2020, when the class 10 state board exam was last held COVID-19 The worldwide pandemic, the pass percentage stood at 86.34. Last year, however, all the appeared students were declared passed as the exam could not be conducted due to the pandemic.

A total of 10,98,775 students had appeared in the examination held from March 7 to 16 this year and out of them, 9,49,927 were declared successful. The pass percentage of male students was recorded at 88.59, while it was 85.00 per cent for female students.

Arnab Gorai of Ramharipur Ramakrishna Mission Asharama in Bankura district and Raunak Mandal of Burdwan CMS School High School in East Burdwan district jointly topped the examination by securing 99 per cent (693 out of 700).

Chief Minister congratulates successful students Mamata Banerjee Tweeted: “Congratulations to our successful students and rank-holders of Madhyamik Exam! The boys and girls of our districts have excelled, while the students of the city have also made us proud.”

“Greetings to the parents, teachers, schools. The results are soon declared by the board, 2023 exam schedule has also been announced. Those who underperformed should take a pledge to fight better in future.”

Kaushiki Sarkar of Adarshbani Academy High School in Malda district and Raunak Mandal (sharing name and surname with the first class student) of Ghatal Vidyasagar High School in Paschim Medinipur district secured the second position with 692 marks.

Shutarshi Tripathi of Path Bhavan School, who finished fourth with 690 marks along with another student, is the only student from Kolkata who made it to the merit list.

Ananya Dasgupta of Asansol Umrani Mahila Kalyan Girls High School in West Burdwan district and Debshikha Pradhan of Chorpaliya Sri Sri Basanti Vidyapeeth in East Midnapore district jointly secured the third position with 691 marks. A total of 114 students have been included in the top-10 merit list this year.

“The results came in 79 days. The hard work of everyone involved in the examination process and the support of the state government made it possible,” said Kalyanmoy Ganguly, president, WBBSE.

Among the districts, Purba Medinipur recorded the highest pass percentage (97.63), followed by Kalimpong (94.71), West Midnapore (94.62), Kolkata (94.36), Jhargram (92.07), North 24 Parganas (91.98), South 24 Parganas ( 89.78). and Malda (87.11).

Like previous years, this time also students from several districts outperformed their Kolkata counterparts. This is also reflected in the top-10 merit list, where only one student from Kolkata has featured.

“From June 3, marksheets and certificates will be distributed to schools from 49 camp offices of WBBSE. Only parents will be allowed to submit certificates and mark sheets after producing admit cards and registration cards of their children,” Ganguly said. The WBBSE chairman announced that next year, the class 10 board exam will be conducted from February 23 to March 4.

Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar also extended his best wishes to the successful students. “Congratulations and best wishes to all those who have passed the secondary examination. Those who do not pass the exam need not be disappointed. Understanding teachers and parents will definitely help them realize their potential as per their ability,” Dhankhar said in a tweet.
