The ED had arrested Chatterjee on July 23 in connection with alleged irregularities in the recruitment drive by the College Service Fee (SSC), when he was the Bengal Education Minister from 2014 to 2021. Chatterjee’s close aide was also Arpita Mukherjee. Has been arrested and ED has seized crores of rupees from his houses in several parts of Kolkata.
