Muzaffargarh: A day after he was arrested for allegedly violating the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) code of conduct during the bypolls in Punjab, a district magistrate’s court on Monday morning ordered the release of PTI leader Shahbaz Gill.

The Punjab Police on Sunday arrested Shahbaz Gill in Muzaffargarh along with his security guards, dressed as FC personnel, for visiting various polling booths during the bypolls in the city.

Gill, however, denied the allegations of having any security guard in the uniform of FC officials. He claimed that she had been engaged for three hours and was suddenly arrested without a warrant.

The police produced Gill in the early hours of Monday in the district magistrate’s court of tehsil Jataoi area where the court issued orders for his release.
