USFL Week 10 recap: Scores, standings and more

United States Football League first season is in the books, and the playoffs are just around the corner.

The league completed four games over the weekend. The New Jersey Generals took on the Philadelphia Stars in a playoff preview before enemies of the North Division.

The Birmingham Stallions played the Tampa Bay Bandits. The Michigan Panthers were looking for revenge against the Pittsburgh Maulers, and the Houston Gamblers took on the New Orleans Breakers.

Here’s how the final week of the regular season went.

normal 26, stars 23: New Jersey got the best of Philadelphia in a tune-up game ahead of next week’s playoffs. Luis Perez had 138 passing yards and three touchdown passes. Trey Williams also had a quick touchdown. Stars quarterback Kes Cooks had two touchdown passes in the win.

Stallion 21, Bandits 18: A 12-yard touchdown from CJ Marable of Birmingham gave the Stallions nine points to go into the game with 13:11. Tampa Bay responded with 7:26 with a Jordan Tamu touchdown pass, but no one else could score on the board. Marble had 47 rushing yards that day. Tamu ended the day with two touchdown passes.

Panthers 33, Mauler 21: Pittsburgh’s only win of the season was against Michigan at the start of the year, but the Panthers took their revenge. Paxton Lynch had three touchdown passes for Michigan in the win. Pittsburgh’s Wad Lee had two touchdowns and Roland Rivers also had one.

Gambler 20, Breaker 3New Orleans didn’t sound so good before their playoff matchup against the Stallions. All-USFL Quarterback Kyle Slaughter Didn’t play in this. New Orleans had just 116 yards of total offense. Houston’s Donald Payne returned an interception for a touchdown. Jeremiah Johnson also had an interception in Houston’s victory.
