Two people attacked at gunpoint near Chandimandir toll plaza, looted

On Wednesday evening, five unidentified men attacked two men and robbed their belongings and looted Rs 70,000 at gunpoint. The victims were going to Pinjore in the car.

The deceased has been identified as Rajkumar (32), a resident of Zirakpur.

“I was going to Pinjore with a friend. But just before Chandimandir toll plaza, our car was stopped by another car with Punjab registration number. Two youths got down from the vehicle carrying belt and pistol. As they arrived to attack us, I got out of the vehicle to try and
Run away. They grabbed me and started beating me. They took my bracelet and Rs 60,000 in cash. When I woke up in a state of unconsciousness, I found that my friend did not have a car. I took an auto to reach home. Later on talking to his friend Sarvpreet, it was found that five people were sitting in the car. The remaining three assaulted her, damaged her car and took Rs 10,000 from her,” the FIR reads.

A case was registered at Chandimandir police station under sections 25 of the Arms Act and sections 148, 149, 323, 341 and 379B of the Indian Penal Code. The police haven’t been able to arrest anyone yet.
