Trump says Pence is ‘mortally wounded’ inside GOP for his role in proofreading 2020 election results

Has been “very badly hurt” by his commitment to giving. Authentication of 2020 election results.

“I was disappointed in one thing, but it was a big deal. Mike should have sent those crooked votes back to the legislatures and I think your results in the election would have been different,” the former president told an audience. As part of O’Reilly’s “History Tour” in Sunrise, Florida on Saturday.

Pence eventually rejected a petition from Trump and his top aides to block certification of Joe Biden’s victory by the House and Senate in January, after he was forced to take refuge in a safe place inside the US Capitol. A crowd of Trump supporters stormed the building. – with some chanting “Hang Up Mike Pence” Because they violated security barriers.

“I think Mike is deeply hurt by what happened on January 6th,” Trump said. “I think he’s mortally wounded, clearly, because I see the reaction he’s getting from people.”

As recently as last week, Pence traveled to the nation’s first primary state to speak to a local Republican women’s group and greet GOP donors at a fundraiser for New Hampshire state senators. While attending an event organized by the conservative group Heritage Action, Pence said he drew inspiration from scripture in deciding to approach it on January 6.

“I love the Bible verse that says, ‘He keeps his oath even when it hurts.’ I took an oath to uphold the Constitution of the United States and I took my oath that day,” Pence told the crowd.

In addition to touring early voting states, Pence is quietly assembling a campaign-in-waiting if he decides to run for president after next year’s midterm elections — a decision he claims will help him. “I don’t like this question because there are so many of them,” Trump said of potential running mates, adding that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis “would be nice.”

A Pence spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
