Emergency services responded to several reports of drivers hitting pedestrians in Toronto on Wednesday evening.

Between 5 pm and 10 pm, at least three passers-by were reportedly injured, police are probing an alleged hit-and-run.

In an incident reported around 5:10 p.m., officials said a man in his 50s was hit by a driver. It is alleged that the driver escaped from the spot after seriously injuring the passerby.

The collision happened in the Lake Shore Boulevard and Islington Avenue area.

Later, at approximately 7:30 p.m., police were called with a report of another pedestrian collision in the area of ​​Don Mills Road and Steeles Avenue.

Police said a pedestrian in the area was hit by the driver of the vehicle while the vehicle remained lying at the scene. Paramedics told Global News that the pedestrian was taken to a hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Around the same time, paramedics say they responded to a pedestrian who was struck in the Don Mills Road and Lawrence Avenue area. They said they took a male patient to the hospital with minor injuries.
