So, the end is near – and I’m not just talking Gulf Stream collapse. Yes, the Olympics are nearing their end – as is the women’s marathon as athletes race the streets of Sapporo (we’ve moved north to escape the Tokyo heat. Although it’s hot in Sapporo too). We’ll have more in the big races soon, but in the meantime my colleague Martin Bellum highlights Day 15.

If you only see one thing: 7.35pm-9.50pm Athletics/Track & Field – There is only one season at the stadium on Saturdays and it is final after final. we get women’s high jump And this men’s spear. NS Women’s 10,000 meters final It’s 7.45. NS Men’s 1500m final It’s 8.40 hrs. Then we end the track event at the stadium with an explosive double hit of the women’s and men’s 4x400m Relay Final 🥇
- 6 a.m. Women’s Marathon – Held in Sapporo to try and escape the heat of Tokyo, Ladies will start around 10am UK time so you can sit with your Ovaltines till late at night and watch someone else run 26.2 miles to sleep
- 6.30am Golf – this needed Fourth and final round of women’s golf – weather permitting
- 9.30am-12.47pm Canoe Sprint – There are four finals on Saturday, the women’s canoe double 500m, men’s canoe single 1000m, and the kayak four 500m in both flavors
- 10am-12.20pm Beach Volleyball – The men’s bronze match featured the pairs Latvia and Qatar, followed by Norway and Nott Russia serving for gold
- 10:00 And 3pm diving – Men’s 10m platform semifinal and then final
- 10 am, 11.30 am And Rhythmic gymnastics at 3.20 – Morning sessions are qualifying for group all-around. Afternoon individual all-around final
- 11.30 pm, 4 pm And 8 o’clock basketball – The program is completely reversed – possibly for the benefit of US TV viewers – but the morning begins with the men’s gold medal game between the USA and France. At 4 pm, it is the women’s bronze final (France v Serbia), with the men’s bronze medal match between Australia and Slovenia at 8 pm.
- 12:00 And Baseball at 7 p.m. – First the bronze medal match between the Dominican Republic and South Korea, and then the final between Japan and the USA in the evening
- 2pm-3.15pm Boxing – Four finals today in men’s fly, women’s fly, men’s middle and women’s welter weights. Britain’s Galal Yafai will face Cuba’s Carlo Palme at 2 pm
- 2pm-8.45pm Karate – Characteristics of men’s kumite +75 kg and women’s kumite +61 kg. Bronze medal match and final will be held around 7.20 pm
- 2.30pm-7.30pm Modern Pentathlon – Men’s competition is interrupted by swimming, fencing, show jumping and then combined cross-country runs to shoot at things. very nice to see
- 3.30pm-6.25pm Track Cycling – Race all day, but a final to watch: Men’s Madison final at 4.55pm
- 5:00 And 9pm handball – It’s Egypt vs Spain first for bronze, then France vs Denmark for gold in the men’s competition
- Horse riding at 7 pm – Today is the last day with the horses, and it’s the jump team final
- Artistic swimming at 7.30 pm – Team Free Routine Final Lights on Saturday, the last day of events
- Football at 8.30 – This is the men’s final in Yokohama, with Brazil v Spain.
