Dramatic video footage shows the harrowing moment a helicopter crashed at a park in Brazil before residents from a slum rushed and pulled out the pilot and a passenger from the wreckage. The São Paulo Military Police said the aircraft was out on a flight test after scheduled maintenance service was completed at Congonhas Airport on Wednesday.

The helicopter took off from the airport at 10.46am and crashed at 10.53am. Residents could be seen pulling out the pilot, Lucas Pereira (pictured), 51, and Jorge Viana, 38, out of the helicopters and carrying them away. Pereira was airlifted to Das Clinicas Hospital, where he was treated for a head injury. Viana was rushed to Jabaquara Hospital, where he was diagnosed with fractures in both legs.
