Police trying to identify suspects wanted in connection with arson investigation Oshawa,

Durham Regional Police said that just before 9 p.m. on January 12, officers were notified of a fire at the Speak Easy Boxing and Training Academy on Bloor Street West.

Police said the fire was “quickly doused and brought under control” by firefighters.

Officials said the Ontario Fire Marshal’s office was notified and a “parallel investigation” was launched.

According to police, investigators believe the incident was arson “based on evidence from the scene”.

“The damage to the building is estimated at more than a million dollars,” police said in a news release.

Authorities believe at least two suspects were at the scene, and were linked to a black Mercedes Sprinter van.

“The van is a 2019-2021 model year and is likely a diesel model,” police said.
