Stock futures slip ahead of economic data

US stock futures went down ahead of economic data and investors were shaken by a higher-than-expected interest rate hike by the Reserve Bank of Australia.

Futures tied to the S&P 500 were down 0.6% after the broad-market index closed up 0.3% on Monday. Nasdaq-100 futures fell 0.7% after the opening bell, pointing to losses in technology stocks.
