St. Lawrence College CEO presides over Ontario colleges – Kingston | Globalnews.ca

Glen Vollebreguet, president and CEO of St. Lawrence College, now has an addition to his resume.

Volebregat was named president of the Ontario Colleges, an organization that advocates for the province’s 24 public colleges. He will assume this post for a term of two years.

“The strength of Ontario’s workforce will be critical to a strong economic recovery,” Wollebreg said in a statement.

“I welcome this opportunity for the College to build tremendous records to ensure that more students gain the specialized expertise to succeed in a wide range of rewarding careers. College graduates are from every sector and industry of our province. and are vital to helping Ontario grow and thrive.”

The position is overseen by the Sector Committee of Presidents of 24 public colleges in the province.

Volbregate will help lead the development of new career-focused three-year degree programs at colleges to run alongside existing diploma programs and four-year degree programs, according to a news release from the College of Ontario.
