In a letter to BMC Commissioner, MLA Samajwadi Party, and a corporator in the civic body, Raees Shaikh has requested the Mumbai civic body to reopen gardens and playgrounds with COVID guidelines in place.
earlier this month, amid the rise COVID-19 cases and the emergence of omicron edition, the state government directed the closure of zoos, gardens, playgrounds and museums to the public.
However, the closure of open spaces has not gone down well with the citizens, who have repeatedly urged the commissioner to reopen the gardens and playgrounds.
