SKM is not contesting any election: Rakesh Tikait

farmer leader Rakesh Tikait Said on Sunday that the United Kisan Morcha (SKM) will not contest any elections.

Tikait’s remarks came days after 22 farmers’ organisations, who were part of the year-long Kisan Andolan Leaders (SKM), announced that they would contest all 117 seats in the upcoming assembly elections in Punjab. .

“United Kisan Morcha is not contesting any elections. Some people have gone on leave for four months. What can we do if someone wants to play cards or go to Mussoorie? After four months we will see who went, what he did, where everyone went. We have a meeting on January 15, we will speak on January 15,” said Tikait in Jaipur.

Tikait said that he does not want to enter politics.

He said, ‘There is government and there are farmers too. We will talk with them,” said Tikait, reacting to the alleged statement of Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, who said the government took “a step back” while talking about three agricultural laws during an event and “Will move again” on Friday.
