New Delhi, 4th July

Nineteen-year-old Ankit Sirsa, arrested on charges of killing Sidhu Musewala, was one of the youngest shooters involved in Musewala’s murder and was “most desperate”, police said on Monday.

Police said Sirsa, a resident of Sersa village in Haryana, has also been named in two other cases of attempt to murder in Rajasthan.

Police said he fired at least six rounds at the Punjabi singer with two pistols.

Police said Sirsa was involved in two other firing incidents in April on the instructions of Lawrence Bishnoi.

Police have also recovered pictures of pistols being fired in Sirsa. In one photo, Sirsa is posing with a colleague with a pistol in both hands.

In another photo, he is seated with a pistol in his left hand and bullets arranged to read “Moosewala”.

Sirsa was arrested by the Special Cell of Delhi Police on Sunday night along with Sachin Bhiwani (25), who was responsible for harboring four shooters involved in the murder of Musewala.

According to the police, both Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldie Brar are part of the gang’s alliance.

Special Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) HGS Dhariwal said, “Sirsa fired two pistols simultaneously and was closest to Sidhu Musewala’s car during the firing. His associate Sachin Bhiwani was also arrested.”

He said that Sirsa is a close associate of the main shooter Priyavrat alias Fauji.

Priyawat was arrested by the Special Cell team of Delhi Police from Kutch on 19 June.

Police sources said Sirsa shot Musewala at least six times.

Musewala was shot dead on May 29 in Punjab’s Mansa district.
