Shorewood Senior Center Gives Out Free Pie for Pi Day

Rochester, Minn. – Today is March 14, also known as Pi Day. In honor of the holiday, a local retirement community gave away free pies.

Fresh pies were handed out to the people on his waiting list to be there.

Since last year, Shorewood has been serving pies on vacation. The staff here were excited to do it again this year. They do this to show residents how their food tastes.

The retirement community also does this to build relationships with them.

“There’s still a pandemic going on and we haven’t been able to bring in large groups of people who are in Shorewood,” says marketing director Ellie Starks. “Even though we’re touring one-on-one, we can’t invite large groups, so this is a way to invite a lot of people to Shorewood without bringing too many people into the building.”

According to Stark, Shorewood plans to have an event similar to Pi Day in the summer for future residents. Anyone interested in being on the Shorewood Senior Campus waiting list can call them here 507-252-9110,
