It may be rare these days, but Golf fans have long been accustomed to seeing Tiger Woods Wear red clothes on Sunday.

But at the PNC Championship, spectators were seeing double. For the final round of the annual event in Orlando, Tiger and son Charlie paired up in perfect harmony.

At the age of 13, his father has won two more majors than his birthday, but Charlie has impressed throughout his time at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, his tee approach and swing drawing imprecise, yet extremely precise, Compare for his playing partner.

The pair finished eighth in a star-studded 20-player field that includes only players who have won a major championship or been invited to play The Players Championship with their relatives. After finishing runner-up last year, Woods finished six shots behind three-time major champion Vijay Singh and his son Kas Singh of Fiji.

Apart from matching outfits, the two also coordinated to play through the pain. Woods, his Emotional St Andrews Outing At The Open in July, he was managing plantar fasciitis, pain in the lower part of the foot, while Charlie admitted he was dealing with an ankle injury caused by rolling over during a practice round.

Injuries have been the story of Woods’ recent career, with his playing time cut short since a serious leg injury in a car accident in February 2021. The 46-year-old pulled out of the Hero World Challenge earlier this month, citing pain in his foot, and struggled with movement at various points during the seventh edition of The Match last week.

“It was a tough year, but one of the more rewarding years for me in a while,” Woods told reporters on Sunday.

“I don’t know if I’ll ever come back to play St Andrews at the British Open, but to be able to experience that maybe one last time at this level was very special to me.”

Sharing a golf cart to get around the course, both father and son could be seen limping around several times over the weekend. Yet even with the two good feet between them, Woods believes she and her son were “the perfect yin and yang”.

“He has a left foot, I have a right foot and so we have two good feet – we are good,” Woods Told SiriusXM PGA Tour Radio on Saturdays.

“There’s a big difference between pain and injury… If you’re injured you’re not playing, it’s just a little sore and it’s game time – so we just go in there and suck it together.” Huh.”

Charlie said: “After a very minor injury, I now have a new respect for them.

“Just to see a fraction of what he’s going through, and see how much it hurts. It’s good he’s gotten to where he is now, after all he’s gone through it.

After a day of friendly chats with Justin Thomas and his father Mike, who finished joint second, Charlie saved a back-handed compliment for his father.

He told reporters, “I think I already knew what he was capable of and then yesterday, he played the best he’s ever played, and so that kind of shocked me a bit.”

Charlie Woods' technique was compared to that of his father.

Laughter erupted again in the press room with Woods’ answer.

“I used to be good,” he said.

“It was neat to be able to turn back the clock to see what I was capable of.”
