San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department released an update It was to say on Wednesday evening US time that the search by air would continue as the sands search approached its second week.
The sheriff’s office said the California Highway Patrol’s Valley Division Air Ops has been brought in to assist in the search using a device that can detect reflective material and, in some cases, credit cards.
The sheriff’s office said it was hopeful that this could “point to an area where we can focus our search efforts”.
Sand was reported missing on January 13 while hiking on Mount Baldy, about 40 miles northeast of downtown Los Angeles.

Sands’ cellphone rang two days later, on January 15, suggesting that his phone died a short time later.
Weather conditions in the area, affected by a severe winter storm and high winds, complicated the search effort, and the risk of avalanches forced the suspension of the ground search on 20 January. officials said,
Despite several ground and aerial searches, the location of the missing actor has not been identified.
On Monday, Sands’ family praised the “heroic” search efforts by California authorities.
In a statement shared by the sheriff’s department, the family said they have been touched by the outpouring of support they have received in the days following his disappearance.
