Saskatoon Forestry Farms Park and Zoo brings back the guided Train Tourism with a new electric train.

Every year from May until Labor Day, the train will be guided by the Saskatoon Zoo Society from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.

The Kinsman Express II also has a ramp and a wheelchair accessible car.

The Saskatoon Zoo Foundation contacted Saskatoon’s Kinsman Club when they realized that the original Kinsman Express had gone bad.

The Kinsmen Club then went on to raise and donate $100,00 to the Kinsman Express II.

“On behalf of relatives we are very thrilled to be able to present this check and this opportunity to the people of Saskatoon and the zoo. This is a big moment to see a fresh machine for all to see for many years to come and We are really excited to be doing the first ride,” said the Kinsmen Club of Saskatoon.

Forestry Farms Park and Zoo said they are very grateful for the Kinsman funding, believing that the train is a big reason people visit the zoo.

“We had a Kinsman Express for years and years, it was a guest favorite at the zoo. It was something we used every year for the Zoo Gala that people loved,” said Don Voroniuk, of the Saskatoon Zoo Foundation said the executive director.

“People come to the zoo just to ride the train.”

“We knew the train was literally on its last legs and we went back to relatives and of course, they come through whatever they do in the community. They stepped up, they know it There is a legacy to them, so we really cannot perform the train here today without the help of relatives.”

The Kinsman Express II will be available for ride from July 1.

“It’s a brand new completely electric train, so we don’t run on gas anymore, so there’s no exhaust, no smoke, with a brand new sound system. It just gives us a chance to go back to the zoo again.” Be able to walk around and have a little fun,” said Jeff Mitchell, Saskatoon Forestry Farms park and zoo manager.

Train trips are free with the price of admission to the zoo.
