The Saskatchewan Minister responsible for SaskTel, Don Morgan KC, has instructed SaskTel to keep sasktel.net email addresses as a free service to customers.
SaskTel recently announced that starting April 21, sasktel.net email users will pay a $1.95 monthly fee to access their email.

The company had planned to give users enough time to switch to free domains before the fee was implemented. However, Morgan Casey disagreed with the idea after listening to user concerns.
“Following SaskTel’s decision earlier this week to implement a monthly fee for email users, I have spoken with Saskatchewan residents and heard their concerns,” he said.
“As a result, I have instructed SaskTel to keep sasktel.net email addresses free of charge for SaskTel customers.”
He said it would positively affect about 88,000 Saskatchewan residents.
