Sandson’s ex-girlfriend describes acting ‘a little upset,’ smelling bleach after alleged murder – Halifax | globalnews.ca

On the evening of August 15, 2015, William Sandson And his girlfriend went out to dinner together.

Sonja Gashas told Sandson’s first-degree murder trial at Dartmouth that he asked her to go to his friend’s house that night because “he wanted to make a deal that would be the last deal.”

At that time both were dating for about a year. She knew he sold marijuana and expressed concern to him, especially because he was starting med school that fall, she testified.

Around midnight, she said she received a text from Sandson saying it was okay to return to her Henry Street apartment. She says she showed up within minutes of that lesson because her friend lived nearby.

Later in her testimony, during cross-examination with defense attorney Alison Craig, Gashas agreed that Sandson was nervous, shaken, and her heart was racing.

She said that her apartment smelled like cleaning products, specifically bleach.

She told the trial that, at the time, Sandson said bleach was used because someone had been “beaten up” during the deal, and that there was “a lot of blood” that he had to clean up.

While she doesn’t remember when the conversation took place, Gushas said she confronted Sandson after seeing a missing person post on social media. The missing person was Taylor Samson.
