Russian attack on Ukraine’s infrastructure ‘inevitable’, West pursuing ‘disastrous’ policies: Putin tells Scholz

Russian President Vladimir Putin told German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on Friday that Moscow’s attacks on Ukraine’s infrastructure were “inevitable” and accused the West of pursuing “disastrous” policies, AFP quoted the Kremlin as saying.

“Such measures have become a forced and inevitable response to Kyiv’s provocative attacks on Russia’s civilian infrastructure,” the Kremlin said in a statement after the first telephone conversation between Putin and his German counterpart since mid-September.

“Attention was drawn to the destructive line of Western states, including Germany, which are arming the Kyiv regime and training the Ukrainian military,” the Kremlin said.
