RSS at Jamia: ‘Anti-CAA protest sent wrong message to the world’, says Sangh leader Indresh Kumar – India Times Hindi News

Senior RSS leader Indresh Kumar on Thursday said the protest against the new citizenship law at Jamia Millia Islamia sent a wrong message to the world and the protesters should have the humility to accept the persecuted minorities from the neighboring country. In an hour-long speech full of Quranic phrases, Kumar said the holy book talks about “accepting all and loving all” and that is what the prime minister is all about. Narendra Modi means by “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas”.

“The protests send a message to the world that we are not bothered about prosecuting minorities,” he said while addressing a symposium on a book titled.[email protected] Dreams Meat Delivery in Jamia. “Persecuted minorities from 26 countries live in India. But when we thought of giving refuge to minorities from a nation that was a part of our country in the past, you should have had the humility to accept them,” Kumar said.

The RSS leader said that PM Modi wants to bring everyone into the mainstream and his government’s schemes are for the welfare of ‘Hindustani’ and not for any particular community, caste and religion. “Religion does not unite us, our nation does. Our identity is our nationality. We are Indians. And the Quran also says that nation comes before religion,” he said.

As soon as Kumar addressed the programme, some students protested at the university’s gate number 7 and called him a “disgust”. The RSS leader said that his friends had warned him not to go to Jamia.

“But I told them that I love those who hate me and abuse me. So, I will definitely go,” he said, adding that some people hated him because they never met or understood him.

He said that when he was questioned “in the name of saffron terror” under Congress rule in December 2010, hundreds of Muslims prayed for him outside the CBI office. “You should also know that four cases were registered in connection with the blasts in Mecca. Masjid in Hyderabad, Ajmer Dargah in Rajasthan, Malegaon in Maharashtra and Samjhauta Express. My name was not in any of the FIRs, nor the accused. Neither as a witness nor as a witness,” he said.

Shoaib, a Jamia student and AISA activist at the protest site, said, “Hate spreaders like Indresh Kumar should be completely opposed… the university administration should stop giving space to hate-mongers like Jamia’s democratic university.”

The protesting students were seen holding placards which read: ‘Let us explain on what criteria Indresh is honored at Jamia’ and ‘Stop inviting haters to Jamia’.

Fraternity Movement, Students Islamic Organization of India, All. several student groups including India Students’ Union, All India Revolutionary Students’ Union, Campus Front of India and Dayar-e-Shauk Student Charter, joined the protest.
