Biden sent out a statement on the crisis that unfolded on Saturday afternoon – where he announced 5,000 troops would be deployed to help with the evacuation and also blamed the former Donald Trump for a disastrous return.

Since then, the President has not issued any written or oral statements or remarks.

However, the White House on Sunday tweeted a photo of Biden briefing him about the ongoing developments in Afghanistan via video chat at Camp David.
