Repeal of agriculture law shows failure of BJP workers to convey their benefits: Uma Bharti

Bhopal, 22 November

BJP leader Uma Bharti on Monday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s sudden announcement to repeal three controversial agriculture laws left her speechless as the move reflects the failure of party workers to not properly pass on the benefits of the laws to farmers. Could you tell?

The former Madhya Pradesh chief minister, who took to Twitter to react to the dramatic announcement made late last week, said India’s farmers are not satisfied with any of the government’s measures so far.

“I have been on the banks of the Ganges in Varanasi for the last four days. I was speechless after PM’s announcement about repeal of agriculture laws on 19th November, so I replied three days late,” tweeted Bharti.

The former Union minister said the PM announced the withdrawal of three agri-marketing laws, saying people like him felt distressed.

He said, “It was the inadequacy of us BJP workers if Prime Minister @narendramodi ji could not explain the importance of agricultural laws to the farmers. Why were we not able to convey (importance of laws) to the farmers properly?” BJP leader PM is a deep thinker who goes to the root of any problem to solve it.

“We could not cope with the constant propaganda of the opposition about agricultural laws. That’s why I was getting very upset by the Prime Minister’s address that day.”

Describing Modi as his leader, Bharti said the style of functioning of the PM, which is characterized by mutual coordination, is unprecedented in the political and democratic history of the world.

In another set of tweets, Bharti hinted at her family’s agricultural background saying, “The farmers of India are not satisfied with any government effort till date. I am from a farmer family. My two elder brothers are still dependent on agriculture. I have constant communication with him. I have a vibrant connection with my native village.”

He said that it is a matter of happiness for the farmers that the opportunity to get fertilizers, seeds and electricity on time and to sell food grains on their own terms. PTI
