Connor Bedard is making history at the age of 17 as Canada’s most influential player in world junior history.

“It just shows we can still score without him,” Howe said.

Paddock said that Bedard would not immediately return to the ice when he returned from juniors.

“Long before he left, Connor thought he was going to play the day he came back. That’s not happening,” Paddock said.

“We have a saying that rest is a weapon, and he needs some rest after this whether he believes it or not.”
