The province said there were 14 per cent fewer people on the waiting list for surgery compared to last year.

The Saskatchewan NDP highlighted some of the inconsistencies reported by the provincial government, saying Saskatchewan still has the longest wait times in Canada.

“The latest national data “Shows Saskatchewan still has the longest average wait times for major procedures like knee and hip replacements,” said health critic Vicki Mowat.

Hindley said it’s still important to note that they are significantly reducing the waiting list.
