“Our surgical teams are making significant progress in ensuring patients receive surgical procedures in a timely manner. Health Minister Everett Hindley said, our government continues to make record investments in human resources to increase capacity and address waiting times in our surgical system.
Nearly 6,000 more surgeries were performed last year than the year before.
The province said there were 14 per cent fewer people on the waiting list for surgery compared to last year.

The Saskatchewan NDP highlighted some of the inconsistencies reported by the provincial government, saying Saskatchewan still has the longest wait times in Canada.
“The latest national data “Shows Saskatchewan still has the longest average wait times for major procedures like knee and hip replacements,” said health critic Vicki Mowat.
Hindley said it’s still important to note that they are significantly reducing the waiting list.
