Real patriotism is contributing to the development of the country: Amit Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday said that most Indians may not get a chance to die for the country, but by dedicating themselves for the development of the country, they can live for the country and that is the real patriotism. The minister was addressing an Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav event organized by the National Security Guard (NSG), in which he received teams of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) who completed a 41,000-km journey across the country. He also flagged off the car rally of NSG.

I want to tell the youth that we are all born after independence. Maybe we will not have the honor to die for the country, but we have the opportunity to live for the country. Can we live our life for the country? It does not require any special sacrifice. Just make sure to do your contribution in the development of the country. Start walking on the path of development made under the leadership of Modi ji.

The Home Minister said that the PM has set many such goals for the country and counted Atmanirbhar Bharat as one of them. “Why can’t this country become self-reliant and live with pride and its head held high. All this is possible if our youth, scientists and technocrats are involved in this. Whatever is happening in the world can happen in India also. With this confidence we have to move forward.”

On Make in India, Shah said, ‘Why shouldn’t India become the manufacturing hub of the world? Youth should associate themselves with the goal of Made in India products all over the world. All these goals are the path of patriotism. Under PM Ayushman Bharat Yojana doctors should dedicate themselves to protect the health of every Indian. Every business and every farmer should join the Make in India campaign. These are all opportunities. PM has given these options to serve the country.

He said that the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav campaign, which includes hundreds of programs across the country to celebrate the 75th year of India’s independence, aims to inspire the youth to dedicate themselves for the development of the country.

“Between 1857 and 1947, many unknown martyrs made the supreme sacrifice. There are many martyrs whose names are not in any list. It is an attempt to remember the many unknown freedom fighters and rekindle the immortal story of India’s freedom struggle. And through this, efforts are being made to revive the spirit of patriotism among the youth and connect it with the development of the country.

Remembering Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri on their birthdays, Shah said both left an indelible mark on the history of India in the 20th century.

“It was a unique freedom struggle where no violence was used. Slowly, 30 crore people followed him (Gandhi) and India got independence. Similarly, Lal Bahadur Shastri changed the paradigm of Indian security. India fought the 1965 war under his leadership. His slogan of Jai Jawan Jai Kisan is relevant even today.”

He said that the current year is an occasion to take oath of India’s bright future, to do better in the world, to instil hope in our hearts and to make things happen with our hard work.

“If 130 crore Indians take one oath each, imagine how much strength can be built up. If everyone takes one step, we walk 130 crore steps. If a child is determined that I will never violate the traffic rules, then can you imagine how much discipline there will be in the country? Can you imagine how much food can be saved if every young person is determined that I will not waste a single grain of food on my plate? If a trader decides that I will pay all my taxes honestly, can you imagine what he can achieve,” Shah said.

He said that it is the responsibility of every Indian to prepare the road for India’s development. He said, ‘If we do this, on completion of 100 years of independence, we will emerge as a big force in the world. Through all these small programs our intention is to inspire the nation.”
