He said the central agency conducted searches at eight places, including Ranganathan’s office and residence.
“During the search, Rs 1.29 crore (approx.), and gold jewelery and other valuables were recovered from the premises of the said accused (Ranganathan). CBI spokesperson RC Joshi said.
Officials said it has been alleged that Ranganathan was taking bribes from beneficiaries in view of exemptions to private companies who bought petrochemical products marketed by Maharatna PSUs.
