Rourkela. From March 1, on the day of Mahashivratri, the stoppage of Bhubaneswar-Rourkela Intercity Express has been given at Bagdih station. It is believed that this has been possible with the direct intervention of Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav. However, the demand to stop the intercity in Baghdih was being made for a long time.

Intercity halt at Bagdih station has made traveling at the rate of Mahakal easy. Shri Mahakal Dham is situated just north of the railway station where Shri Mahakaleshwar is situated. Grand temples of Maa Kali Durga, Hanuman ji, Dadi Sati Kuber ji and Shani Maharaj have also been built in this Dham. Shri Mahakal Dham is built exactly on the lines of Ujjain, the temple is three storeyed. Bholenath on the ground floor, Radha Krishna temple on the first floor and Neelkanth Maharaj is seated on the third floor.

The founder of the temple is the eminent saint Tapasvi Baba Santu Baba of Amarkantak. Mahakal Dham was inaugurated in 2014, since then there was a demand to stop various trains at Bagdihi station. It also includes Rourkela-Bhubaneswar Intercity. There is a lot of enthusiasm among Shiva devotees due to this decision of the Railway Ministry just before Mahashivratri. According to the information released by the Railways, 22839 Rourkela-Bhubaneswar Intercity will reach Bagdih at 06.24 hrs. Wherein 22840 Bhubaneswar-Rourkela Intercity will reach Bagdih station at 19.44 hrs from Bhubaneswar side.

Recently, during the visit of Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, the demand for development of railways in the area including Bagdih was raised prominently. This also includes intercity stoppages at Bagdih. Devotees from Jharkhand, Bihar, Odisha, West Bengal and Chhattisgarh visit the Mahakaleshwar Dham temple in large numbers here. A large number of devotees will be benefited by the new facility. DRM Vijay Kumar Sahu gave information about the intercity halt in Baghdih from March 1 through his Twitter handle. After this an order was also issued by South Eastern Railway.
