Quebec student on life support after courier van collides with BC Transit bus | Globalnews.ca

An 18-year-old woman on her way to BC for a college trip from Quebec has suffered life-threatening injuries after a city bus collided with a courier van.

The young woman was among a group of 16 students who visited Kootenz as part of an event at Selkirk College when they boarded a BC Transit bus, a purveyor, while traveling on Highway 3A at 4:30 p.m. on June 30. The courier was sideswiped by the van. near Castlegar, the RCMP said in a press release.

The teenager was sitting next to the window where the van collided and suffered the most from the impact.

“After her classmates attempted first aid, the injured student was taken to Trail Regional Hospital and then to Kelowna General Hospital, where she is on life support, although she is not expected to survive,” the RCMP said in a press release. “
