Quebec has confirmed a total of 211 cases monkeypoxAccording to the latest update made available by the health authorities on Thursday.

This is an increase of nine compared to the province’s previous 202 infections announced earlier this week.

Health department prescribed 8,101 doses of smallpox vaccine immune Administered to date, an increase of 533 from the last update. The province began firing out shots on 27 May.

Quebec reported the first cases of monkeypox in Canada last month, with the first suspected infection in Montreal. Two weeks ago, public health officials said the city was the epicenter of the outbreak.

According to the country’s Public Health Agency (PHAC), the province has the highest number of cases in the country. Canada reported a total of 278 infections as of Wednesday.

Monkeypox is a rare disease that results from the same family of viruses that cause smallpox, which the World Health Organization declared a worldwide eradication in 1980.

It is spread by prolonged close contact, although it is not very contagious in a typical social setting.

Symptoms include fever, headache, muscle aches, tiredness, swollen lymph nodes and sores. Most recover within weeks without the need for medical care.
